Here are a few multimedia excerpts, highlighting our students’ work

Happy Polydays (2020)

While classrooms across the globe went virtual, the Poly Music Program produced and recording a 22-track album! Recorded and engineered entirely remotely, this album is a collaboration with orchestras, bands, and choirs, as well as several alumni. In fact, just about all musicians, producers, recording and mastering engineers, and even artwork designers were (or currently are) Poly Music students!

We’re very proud of our students, particularly for successfully completely such a massive project without ever having regular in-person rehearsals and recording in their own bedrooms/closets/etc.

Please find our album on all streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). For more info on the album such as the liner notes, please click here.

Hairspray, The Musical (2020)

We are very proud of our 2020 Poly production of Hairspray which ran February 20 - 22, 2020, under the direction of our drama teacher, Linda Bon. We are incredibly grateful we were able to complete our performance run, as we know many programs were not able to complete their later performance runs as a result of the pandemic and the transition to distance learning.

We are also grateful for this promotional video, compiled by Jordan High School’s J-mac and the City of Long Beach Houghton Park Production. The Jordan Video Team spent the weekend with us, collaborating and securing footage and interviews to create this wonderful promotional video.

Our production of Hairspray featured 68 students on stage, a complete pit orchestra, and cooperation between all our performing arts programs (dance, instrumental music, vocal music, theatre, stage technology).
